(**We asked some of our friends to help cover our blog for a few days! We asked each of them to tell us their “high/low”, that is, the highest part of their day or week and the lowest part. We hope you enjoy getting to know people we love for all sorts of reasons.)

Blog: I am… many things.
I think that when you’re a mom, ever day (hour, and minute) is filled with highs and lows. The “bad” days aren’t necessarily bad, you may just have to try a little harder (ok, sometimes really hard) to find the high points. Take a normal day for example:
Being woken up at 6:50 am after a bad night’s sleep – low
Walking into your daughter’s room to see that she draped her blanket over her head to tell you she looks “pretty” – high
Trying to explain to your toddler that she can’t have bread for breakfast EVERY day, only to be screamed at in response – low
Hearing the adorable way she says “pleeeaaase, blubread” (no clue what the blu- part of bread is all about) – high
Trying to manage your way through a grocery store without your toddler knocking every item off the shelf and still getting out with all the items on your list and your sanity- yea, low
Watching said toddler put on her best smile and wave “hello, hi, how you you (how are you)” to everyone that passes – definite high.
Trying for an hour to get your toddler to take a nap only to look at the video monitor and see her take off all her clothes, dump everything out of her crib, run around in circles, and scream for Mickey Mouse – low (oh so low)
Watching your toddler on the video monitor as she takes off ALL HER CLOTHES, dumps EVERYTHING out of her crib, runs around in circles, and calls for Mickey AND SOME CAKE – high..and quite honestly, hilarious.
For me, the highs come in moments when I let my guard down and relax; the lows when I let my impatient nature get the best of me. So really, I guess it just depends on how you look at it. When it all boils down to it though, every day that someone calls me “mom” is a “high” day.
(We love that these pics make today a true Wear it Wednesday!)

It would be so hard to enjoy the highs if it weren’t for the occasional lows
Wonderful post!
Awww, sweet.
Ahh, the joys of motherhood. Lovely post Tati and oh, so true. Cling to those highs, but don’t forget the lows. When your children are as old as mine the lows turn out to be the fondest memories.
