This is a fun way to “play” with food and teach your little ones about primary (red, yellow, blue) and secondary (orange, green, purple) colors.
The original version I saw of this used different flavors of Kool-aid and lemon-lime soda so I’m going to write the instructions with that. I’m sure they can be swapped out for more natural juices/food coloring and any other clear drink.
What You’ll Need:
- Red, Yellow and Blue Kool-aid
- Ice cube trays
- Lemon-Lime Soda
- Clear drinking glasses
The Steps:
- Mix up the each of the primary colored Kool-aid and pour each color into a different ice cube tray and freeze solid.
- Pour the soda into the clear glasses and add two colored ice cubes into each. As the cubes melt, the colors will mix and form secondary colored drinks. (red+yellow= orange , yellow+blue=green, blue+red=purple)

Jodie
