This is a fun way to “play” with food and teach your little ones about primary (red, yellow, blue) and secondary (orange, green, purple) colors.

The original version I saw of this used different flavors of Kool-aid and lemon-lime soda so I’m going to write the instructions with that. I’m sure they can be swapped out for more natural juices/food coloring and any other clear drink.

What You’ll Need:

  • Red, Yellow and Blue Kool-aid
  • Ice cube trays
  • Lemon-Lime Soda
  • Clear drinking glasses

The Steps:

  1. Mix up the each of the primary colored Kool-aid and pour each color into a different ice cube tray and freeze solid.
  2. Pour the soda into the clear glasses and add two colored ice cubes into each. As the cubes melt, the colors will mix and form secondary colored drinks. (red+yellow= orange , yellow+blue=green, blue+red=purple)

Love,
Jodie
