Created to make a difference

When barley & birch opened in 2009, its goal was to fill a void in children’s fashion. The mission was to change industry practices and become a company parents could count on for the most ethically-produced, environmentally-friendly kids clothes possible. In the last 8 years, with as much amazing progress as we’ve seen, our original purpose still seems more relevant than ever.

Raising the next generation of world-changers means raising kids who think creatively, understand the power of their individual voice and develop a deep connection with nature, the arts & their community. With that in mind, we are working on broadening our commitment to kids, families and our shared world. You’ll likely notice some changes within the coming months (we’ll tell you more as soon as we can!) but make no mistake, our hearts are still in the same place, and the cute b&b lines you’ve come to know and love will still be a part of it all.
