Take some time to learn about the different LGBTQ+ flags. Which flag would you like to use to inspire your design? Can you repeat the pattern in your ribbons?

String a bell onto each piece of ribbon.

Starting near the top of your dowel rod (we left about an inch of space at the top, tie your ribbons onto the rod. Tie your bells on tight and be sure to make a double-knot!

  4. Add your own decorative touches

We thought we’d keep it simple by calling our noisemaker complete once we’d tied our rainbow of ribbons and bells on, but you can use paint, markers, stickers, or other decorative elements, or painted wood finials to make your very own style of noisemaker.

The texture of our ribbons made them easy to tie TIGHT, so they’re not going anywhere, but if you think your kids might wave this with extra gusto (HECK YES!) you may want to add a dot of hot glue under each ribbon or bell to make sure they’re super secure.

Parade PERFECT! You can keep jingling through the neighborhood with your noisemakers all summer long, or untie the bells and recycle the supplies into another colorful creation.
